Anthurium

The Anthurium is famous for its glossy, heart-shaped green leaves and its long-lasting, brilliant red waxy 'flowers' (which are actually modified leaves called spathes). It blooms almost continuously throughout the year indoors, adding a vibrant, exotic pop of color and requiring bright, indirect light to thrive.
